Benefits Of Organic
What we consume and how it is produced or grown has a great affect on our lives.
The benefits of organic not only apply to foods such as vegetables and fruits and how these affect the consumers. The benefits
also apply to how going organic affects the environment.
As the move to organics increases, the dangerous use of chemicals decrease. This is a decrease in the chemicals that we and our
children would be absorbing though not only consuming non-organic foods, but through breathing the air and drinking the water that is being
polluted.
The benefits of organic are hard to measure right now, but will really show as we increase the organic habit of things like
gardening organic. We didn't get to the most polluted cities in the world state we are in today, over night and it will take a period of time to
see the results of going organic.
It is amazing though, tests have been conducted on children eating organic
foods and the results were outstanding, but disturbing. These tests show that by consuming organic foods our children are healthier, but most of
the children on the world are not eating organic foods.
The use of organic agriculture practices and gardening accessories not only protects the health of people, but it helps the
health of the earth and the environment we live in. Organic agriculture or gardening organic reduces our exposure to toxic chemicals from the
synthetic pesticides and fertilizers that end up polluting the ground, ground water, air, our water supply systems and the foods that we eat.
These health hazards that are spread in our environment daily can cause anything from cancer to asthma. We can help to clean our
environment by simply eating and using organic products.
Here are some examples of benefits of organic foods:
Higher Nutrient Levels – In comparisons of properly matched organic and non-organic crops, the valid results show that organic
crops, on average, do contain higher levels of trace minerals, vitamin C, and antioxidant phytonutrients.
Lower Pesticide Residues – Even though the mainstream food industry claims that pesticide residues in foods are known to be safe,
there is a problem with the way these pesticide residues are measured. Most of the pesticide residues are measured individually. The problem is
that most non-organic fruits and vegetables will have more than one pesticide residue on them. This pesticide residue cocktail is the danger.
Organic fruits and vegetables don't have pesticide residue.
Having the choice between organic and non-organic, I will always choose organic. The tests have been done, the interviews have
been conducted and the results are in, all things point to the benefits of organic.
